I was browsing around a large bookstore on the weekend, and was floored by some of the cover designs. I particularly love the ornate vintage looking book covers but also the new releases and their clever use of embellishments.

Perth born, New York based designer Deanne Cheuk has got a new website displaying a plentiful array of her work. Warning: The sheer amount of content on this site will make even the biggest workaholics and over-achievers out there feel pretty lazy and unproductive.

Curvy

Curvy 6 has hit the streets. If you have no idea what I am talking about then read on. Curvy is a book published annually showcasing female artists, designers and illustrators from across the globe. Curvy 6 features 120 artists from 39 countries. Curvy is officially launched in Melbourne tomorrow night (July 9 at Magnation) or in Brisbane this Friday night (July 10 at the Nine Lives Gallery). Curvy began in 2004, an initiative of Yen Magazine.

Biddy Bags

Make both a social and fashion statement simultaneously by supporting Biddy Bags. Biddy Bags connects socially isolated mature-aged women with young designers through craft. Every Biddy Bag is a one-off exclusive design, handmade by a local woman. Each product sold also comes with the story of its creator. Talented singer/songwriter Sarah Blasko just happens to be a patron of this venture which was originally masterminded by Samantha Jockel.
