Have you seen Beci Orpin?
Have you seen her house? Oh my! I am so jealous on so many levels. The Design Files were privileged enough to go to her house for a squizz. Check out what they saw here.
Once upon a fold
Hi there.
I stumbled upon this site by Justine from Sydney. It has been a childhood dream of his to create this store and blog and share his passion for paper with the world. Being a graphic designer by trade his site is accordingly beautiful. There are some exquisite examples of books and cards and all things made of paper. Here’s the link: uponafold.com.au
Sanna Annukka
Sanna Annukka has such a distinctive style. This one half English one half Finnish lassie derives her inspiration from nature and folklore. She began by selling her wares at Hygge in London and currently works for Big Active. She is working on her first picture book, which I for one cannot wait to see!
Smithy
Joshua M. Smith is an illustrator master. Just have a look at this poster for the Smashing Pumpkins would yah? Oh and this Presets poster…sweet! His folio site is called Hydro74
Wallflower
I am in love with Graham & Brown’s delectable wallpapers.
Have a greeny christmas!
Christmas is a time of sharing and caring but many of us forget the environment and focus on the consuming and wasting aspects of Christmas.
Christmas Tree – Don’t do what I did and buy your tacky tinsel tree from a major chain. Get one of these trees designed by Buro North and have the coolest tree around. The materials and design has all been considered to reduce harmful emissions and minimise waste in the manufacturing process of these trees. They are also manufactured in Melbourne and can be flat-packed so transporation costs are less than those coming from overseas.
fresh discovery
I discovered this illustrator today called Karolin Schnoor. I love her use of pattern and the colour palettes she uses are so bold.
I love the way she illustrates trees. The trees will be drawn differently in the one picture. It gives the picture a sort of collage effect.
What I also love about Karolin is that she is contributing 15% of the gross sale of theprint on the left to Transportation Alternatives, an organisation acting as an advocate for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport in the New York community.

Atomic Bonsai
I am no Mr Miyagi so the idea of this Bonsai is appealing. Artist Joji Okazaki created the concept of the paper bonsai tree back in 1997. It doesn’t take a green thumb to assemble and is made from 100% recycled paper and non-toxic ink. Australians can purchase their own online via Remedy Online.
